It normally takes a year to complete the marriage preparation process.
Couples who wish to get married at Holy Spirit Church should contact one of the
parish priests or deacons as early as possible, preferably at least one year
prior to the wedding to allow sufficient time for the couple to adequately
fulfill the Church’s requirements for marriage.
Individual Couple Meetings with Priest or Deacon
In addition to the completion of the “Unitas” marriage preparation class,
couples will meet up to five times on a one-one-one basis with the priest or
deacon who they have chosen to witness their vows. During these meetings, the
priest or deacon will interview the couple and complete the canonical process
(obtaining copies of baptism certificates, letters of freedom, prenuptial
investigation, etc.). More information about this process can be found by
